Experience
I first worked as a tutor during City Year, where I provided students with one on one and small group instruction in literacy and math. This year I have given private English lessons to students in Spain who want to learn English as a second language. I have a TEFL certificate, and while this class focused on English as a second language, I learned many skills that are useful in the context of learning any language. I love tutoring and find it very rewarding to work one on one with students to give them help in the exact areas that they need. I also have a passion for the Spanish language, and this is what I am most interested in tutoring. I studied Spanish throughout high school and college, and have spent the past year in Madrid. I am currently still there, but will be back in Vermont from the end of July until near the end of September.

Hobbies
I grew up in Vermont, and from a young age I have loved the outdoors. I enjoy skiing and sailing with my family, and love going hiking as well. While I have enjoyed my time in other cities immensely, I always love to find new things to do and places to explore in my home state. Other things I like to do in my free time include spending time with friends and family, and I also enjoy reading quite a lot.
