I attended school at Grinnell College and Boston University. After college, I taught elementary school for many years in Maine and eventually became a literacy specialist. My area of expertise is language arts, and I am passionate about teaching children how to read and write. I have extensive knowledge and experience teaching children to read through the use of phonics skills and spelling. I have used these two components as well as grammar, mechanics, and editing to teach writing. Not only do I love to teach writing and reading, but I love to read for pleasure.
