Experience
I was an assistant English teacher in Madrid, Spain for two years at a public elementary school. I was also a private tutor for both children and adults - I tutored them in English in the subjects of history & science. I also have experience working one on one with both children and adults in educational and therapeutic settings in the form of providing speech and language therapy. I also have experience working with adolescents with autism spectrum disorder. This taught me to be flexible and creative. Most recently I have worked as a Graduate Teacher's Assistant for a Linguistics course at UVM for Charles Barasch & I have worked as a graduate research assistant for Tiffany Hutchins at UVM. I am also presenting a research poster to the Ziegler Research Forum about Autism Spectrum Disorder. I've studied the anatomy & physiology of the speech and hearing mechanisms extensively. I have also taken courses on history, religion, multicultural issues and environmental science. I am proficient in Spanish.

I like to travel. I've lived in Spain and have traveled throughout most of Europe. I enjoy reading and I have read everything from Junot Diaz to Murakami to Coetzee to Dostoyevsky. I am enjoy being active and healthy, doing yoga and eating well. I like analog photography and film development. I enjoy outdoor activities like hiking and gardening. I enjoy people and I look forward to my future career as a speech and language pathologist.
