Experience

Although I don't have previous tutoring experience, I have been a very succesful student in the area of English during my time at high school. I am currently majoring in theater at the University of Vermont, but hope to double major in English as well. My SAT score was 1900. I think it is important to have the opportunity to be able to utilise a tutor because not all things come naturally to people, and someone who is comfortable to be around and knows the subject you are struggling with can make learning difficult things a lot easier! I wish I had had a tutor for math in my high school years! Also, during high school I recieved the Harvard Book Prize in 2009 for English as well as an Excellence in Social Studies award for my schoolwork in 2009. I was on the National Honors Society and I took the AP (Advanced Placement)Exams for US History, English Language and Competition and English Literature. I recieved a 4/5, 5/5 and 5/5 on those exams, respectively. I list that not to boast and flaunt my ego, but to reassure you that even though I have not tutored before, I am a succesful student in both of those subjects!

Hobbies

I have way too many hobbies and interests! It gets pretty busy sometimes! First and foremost, I love acting. I do it as much as I can, and in high school that pretty much meant 24-7. I have also helped out by designing posters, sets and costumes for plays. I also enjoy writing in my free time as well as painting and drawing, although those two frustrate me at times! In the winter I enjoy Nordic Skiing and was on my school's varsity team for 3 years. I also like hiking and hanging out with my friends, and, of course, good food. Also, Harry Potter has changed my life in a multitude of ways, and, as such, I am one of the biggest fans of those books!
